The First National Carbon Sink Trading Project for Soil Improvement
Project Achievements:
The demonstration project has been implemented on an area of 1,812.6 mu, with remarkable results, and the calculated carbon emission reduction has reached 5,643 tCO?e. The carbon sink trading indicators for this soil improvement were transferred by Quanzhou Mata Ecological Technology Co., Ltd. to Fujian Nanwang Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. and Fujian Fubang Food Co., Ltd. through Xiamen Property Rights Exchange Center. This marks the birth of the first national carbon sink trading project for soil improvement, filling the gap in this field and achieving a major breakthrough from theory to practice.
In the next step, under the guidance of the National Agricultural Technology Extension and Service Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Fujian Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and with the technical support of the Institute of Resources, Environment and Soil Science, Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Quanzhou Mata Ecological Technology Co., Ltd. will carry out cooperation in building soil improvement carbon sink demonstration bases with Taining County and Ninghua County of Sanming City, Changting County of Longyan City, etc. It strives to gradually promote the project across the province and radiate it to the whole country, contributing Mata efforts, Huian‘s case and Fujians solutions to national soil improvement.
